Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)

1 cup finely chopped onion

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp salt

½ tsp black pepper

12 small slider buns (preferably soft, like dinner rolls)

12 slices of American cheese

Dill pickles, sliced

Mustard and ketchup (optional)

¼ cup beef broth or water

Cooking spray or butter (for greasing)

Instructions

Prepare the Beef Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined; avoid overmixing to keep the sliders tender.

Shape the Patties: On a large sheet of wax paper or a clean surface, press the mixture into a flat rectangle about ½ inch thick. Score it lightly to create 12 equal squares for easy cutting later.

Cook the Patties: Preheat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Spray it with cooking spray or lightly butter the surface. Place the beef rectangle on the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, or until browned on one side.

Steam the Sliders: Flip the patties and add beef broth or water to the skillet. Immediately cover with a lid to allow the steam to cook the burgers thoroughly for another 3-4 minutes, or until they reach your desired doneness.

Add Cheese: During the final minute of cooking, lay a slice of American cheese on each patty. Cover again to let the cheese melt perfectly over the beef.

Assemble the Sliders: While the cheese is melting, prepare the slider buns. Open each slider bun and lay down a few pickles on the bottom half. Place a beef patty with melted cheese on top.

Condiments: If desired, add mustard and ketchup to taste before closing the slider with the top half of the bun.

Serve Immediately: Place the sliders on a platter and serve warm with your favorite side fries or chips.
