1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

For the Cookie Layer:

1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

    Prepare the Brownie Layer:

      - In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, remove from heat.

        - Stir in the granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.

          - In a separate bowl, whisk together cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.

            - Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.

              Prepare the Cookie Layer:

                - In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

                  - Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.

                    - In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
