Ingredients

1 lb flank steak

2 tablespoons olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

1/4 cup honey

4 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 cups rotini pasta

2 cups broccoli florets

Chopped green onions for garnish

Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

Marinate the Steak: In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Place the flank steak in a resealable bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over it. Let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.

Cook the Rotini: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the rotini pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. During the last 3 minutes of cooking, add the broccoli florets. Drain and set aside.

Prepare the Steak: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade (discard the marinade) and sear the steak in the hot skillet for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until the desired doneness is reached. For medium rare, aim for an internal temperature of 130°F (54°C). Let the steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing it against the grain.

Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, add the remaining marinade (if you have reserved some) along with 1 tablespoon of cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons of water. Bring to a simmer and cook until thickened, about 2-3 minutes.

Toss Everything Together: In a large bowl, combine the cooked rotini, broccoli, and sliced steak. Drizzle the thickened honey garlic sauce over the top, tossing to coat everything evenly.

Serve: Plate the sticky honey garlic steak and rotini, and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Enjoy your delicious meal!
