Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon brown sugar

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

1 cup green onions, sliced (plus more for garnish)

1 cup shredded carrots

2 cups cooked rice (white, brown, or cauliflower)

1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

Optional toppings: fried egg, kimchi

Instructions

Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes. Set aside.

Cook the Beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until it's browned, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Add Vegetables: Stir in the sliced green onions and shredded carrots, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until the veggies soften slightly.

Combine Sauce and Beef: Pour the prepared sauce over the beef mixture, stirring well to combine. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.

Serve: In a bowl, place a generous serving of cooked rice. Top with the Korean ground beef mixture.

Garnish: Sprinkle with sesame seeds, additional green onions, and if desired, add a fried egg or a side of kimchi for extra flavor.

Enjoy: Serve hot and enjoy your delicious Korean Ground Beef Bowl!
