2 large yellow onions, finely chopped

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 cup sour cream

1 cup cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1/2 cup mayonnaise

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1/2 cup chopped green onions (scallions)

Optional: 1/2 cup crushed breadcrumbs for topping

Instructions
 

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

    In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onions and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Sauté the onions for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are soft, caramelized, and golden brown.

      Once the onions are cooked, remove them from the heat and let them cool for a few minutes.

        In a large mixing bowl, combine the sour cream, softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder. Mix until smooth and well combined.

          Fold the caramelized onions and chopped green onions into the cheese mixture until evenly distributed.

            Transfer the mixture into a baking dish. If you like a crunchy topping, sprinkle crushed breadcrumbs evenly over the top.

              Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until bubbly and golden on top.

                Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.
