Ingredients

For the Hot Honey:

1/2 cup honey

1-2 teaspoons red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

Pinch of salt

For the Chicken:

2 chicken breasts, boneless and skinless

1 cup buttermilk

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup cornmeal

1 teaspoon baking powder

Vegetable oil (for frying)

For the Biscuits:

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed

3/4 cup buttermilk

Instructions

Make the Hot Honey:

    - In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the honey, red pepper flakes, apple cider vinegar, and a pinch of salt. Stir continuously until heated through, allowing the flavors to meld. Just before serving, remove from heat and set aside.

      Prepare the Chicken:

        - Marinate the chicken breasts in buttermilk with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper for at least 1 hour or up to overnight in the refrigerator.

          - In a shallow bowl, mix together flour, cornmeal, baking powder, salt, and pepper. Remove the chicken from the marinade, letting any excess drip off, and coat the chicken thoroughly in the flour mixture.

            - In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, fry the chicken for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.

              Make the Biscuits:

                - Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C). In a large bowl, whisk together 2 cups flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

                  - Gradually stir in the buttermilk until a soft dough forms. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently just until combined. Pat out to about 1-inch thickness and cut into rounds using a biscuit cutter.

                    - Place the biscuits on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.

                      Assemble the Dish:

                        - Slice each biscuit in half horizontally. Place a piece of fried chicken in the middle and drizzle generously with the prepared hot honey. Top with the other half of the biscuit and serve immediately.

Enjoy your Spicy-Sweet Hot Honey Chicken Biscuits!
