Ingredients

1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

2 cups powdered sugar

2 cups powdered milk (whole or skim)

1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional, for extra richness)

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon cornstarch (for smooth mixing)

1 teaspoon vanilla powder (or 1 tablespoon vanilla extract if preparing immediately)

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cocoa powder, powdered sugar, powdered milk, salt, and cornstarch. Whisk together until the mixture is well combined and smooth.

If you are using chocolate chips, blend them in using a food processor until they become a fine powder and mix them into the dry ingredients. This step is optional but adds an indulgent chocolate flavor.

Transfer the hot chocolate mix to an airtight container or jar. If you used vanilla extract, store it in the fridge instead, and consume it within a week.

When ready to enjoy, add 1/4 cup of the hot chocolate mix to 1 cup of hot water or milk (for a creamier drink). Stir well until mixed, heat to desired temperature, and serve.

Top with whipped cream, marshmallows, or a sprinkle of additional cocoa powder, if desired.
