Ingredients

1 lb chicken sausage, sliced

1 cup orzo pasta

2 cups chicken broth

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup spinach, fresh

1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

1 medium onion, diced

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

Grated Parmesan cheese for garnish

Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

Sauté the Chicken Sausage: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced chicken sausage and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Cook the Aromatics: In the same skillet, add the diced onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion becomes translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the Orzo: Stir in the orzo pasta and Italian seasoning, cooking for another 1-2 minutes to lightly toast the pasta.

Pour in the Broth: Add the chicken broth and bring to a gentle simmer. Cook uncovered, stirring occasionally, until the orzo is al dente, about 10-12 minutes.

Stir in the Cream: Reduce the heat to low and add the heavy cream, stirring until well mixed. Cook for another 2-3 minutes to allow the cream to thicken slightly.

Combine Ingredients: Add the browned chicken sausage back to the skillet along with the fresh spinach and halved cherry tomatoes. Mix until the spinach wilts and everything is heated through, about 2-3 minutes.

Season to Taste: Add salt and pepper according to your taste preference.

Serve: Plate the creamy chicken sausage orzo skillet, and garnish with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and torn basil leaves. Enjoy your delicious one-pan meal!
