Ingredients

8 ounces penne pasta

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

4 cups fresh broccoli florets

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup chicken broth

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and black pepper to taste

Red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Fresh basil or parsley for garnish

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the penne according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Sauté the Chicken: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced chicken and season with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the chicken is no longer pink and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

Cook the Broccoli: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the broccoli florets, pouring in a splash of water, and cover to steam for about 3-4 minutes until bright green and tender but still crisp.

Make the Sauce: Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth, bringing the mixture to a gentle boil. Reduce the heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce becomes smooth and creamy. If needed, adjust the seasoning with additional salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes for heat.

Combine: Add the cooked penne and the sautéed chicken back into the skillet, stirring until everything is well coated with the creamy sauce. Allow it to simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.

Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with chopped fresh basil or parsley. Serve warm and enjoy your creamy broccoli and chicken penne!
