Ingredients

4 cups day-old bread, cut into small cubes (any type of bread)

4 large eggs

1 cup milk

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

For the Topping:

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a standard muffin tin with cooking spray or butter.

Prepare the Bread: In a large bowl, combine the day-old bread cubes and the melted butter. Toss until the bread is well-coated.

Mix the Egg Batter: In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

Combine Everything: Pour the egg mixture over the bread cubes. Gently fold the mixture together until all the bread is soaked and well-coated.

Fill the Muffin Tin: Divide the soaked bread mixture evenly among the muffin cups, filling each cup about 3/4 full.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the muffins are puffed and golden brown on top.

Prepare the Cinnamon Sugar Topping: While the muffins are baking, mix the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a small bowl.

Coat the Muffins: Once baked, remove the muffins from the oven. While they are still warm, sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture generously over the tops of the muffins.

Cool and Enjoy: Allow the muffins to cool in the pan for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Serve warm or at room temperature.
