Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)

1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade)

1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)

1 cup refried beans

1 cup salsa

1 package refrigerated pizza dough

1 egg (beaten for egg wash)

Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Jalapeños, sliced (optional for extra heat)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat if needed.

Stir in the taco seasoning with a splash of water according to the package instructions. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes, then remove from heat.

Roll out the refrigerated pizza dough on a lightly floured surface. Cut it into rectangular strips about 3 inches wide.

Spread a layer of refried beans on each strip of pizza dough.

Add a generous spoonful of the cooked taco beef on top of the beans, followed by a sprinkle of shredded cheese and a small spoonful of salsa.

Carefully fold the stripes of pizza dough over the filling and press the edges to seal. You can twist the sticks for a fun effect if desired.

Place the prepared taco sticks on the lined baking sheet. Brush the tops with the beaten egg for a golden finish.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.

Once baked, let them cool slightly before serving. Garnish with chopped cilantro and add sliced jalapeños if you like a bit of spice.
