Ingredients

1 package of breakfast sausage links (12 links)

1 can of crescent roll dough

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/4 cup cooked and crumbled bacon (optional)

1 tablespoon maple syrup (optional for glaze)

1 large egg (for egg wash)

Optional toppings: Everything bagel seasoning, fresh chives

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Prepare the Dough: Open the can of crescent roll dough and unroll it on a clean, flat surface. Pinch the seams together to form a single sheet, or cut each triangle into smaller sections for mini versions.

Add Cheese and Bacon: Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the dough. If you're using bacon, scatter the crumbled pieces on top.

Wrap the Sausages: Take each breakfast sausage link and place it at the wider end of the dough triangle, then roll it up snugly. Ensure the cheese and bacon are tucked inside as you roll. Repeat with each sausage link.

Apply Egg Wash: Beat the egg in a small bowl. Brush the tops of each wrapped sausage with the egg wash for a golden finish.

Optional Maple Glaze: If you want a slightly sweet touch, drizzle a little maple syrup on top of each wrapped sausage before baking, or serve it on the side for dipping.

Sprinkle Toppings: If desired, sprinkle everything bagel seasoning or chopped chives on top for extra flavor.

Bake: Place the wrapped sausages on the prepared baking sheet, making sure they are spaced apart. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the dough is golden brown and the sausages are cooked through.

Serve: Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly. Serve warm with additional maple syrup for dipping, if desired.
