Ingredients

1 loaf of brioche or challah bread, cut into 1-inch cubes

8 oz cream cheese, softened and diced into small cubes

2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries

6 large eggs

2 cups milk

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup maple syrup (for serving)

Powdered sugar (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.

Prepare the bread: In a large bowl, place the cubed brioche or challah bread. Distribute the diced cream cheese and blueberries evenly throughout the bread cubes.

Mix the egg mixture: In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

Combine: Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread and toppings in the baking dish. Use a spatula to gently press down on the bread to ensure all pieces are soaked in the mixture. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or ideally overnight for better flavor absorption.

Bake: Remove the casserole from the refrigerator and uncover it. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the center is set. If the top is browning too quickly, you can tent it with aluminum foil.

Serve: Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before serving. Drizzle with maple syrup and dust with powdered sugar for an extra touch.

Enjoy: Serve warm and enjoy this deliciously sweet breakfast treat with family and friends!
